What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

People in our reserved camp site, roads are to narrow and sites are to close to each other. We did not stay after all that and won’t go back

Beautiful shady, private setting in verdant, mossy, old growth forest. A timeless campground. Try and get a site near the river - a lot of D, E and A are, or for more privacy and cool shade, the C, B loops are very pretty to. The vault toilet nearest us was clean and well stocked. There were no bug problems this time of year (mid-late August.). Campground was full or nearly so, but still seemed quiet and private. I will echo other reviews - this is a historic campground - it has a bit of a well kept, but vintage 50s feel - and parking slabs are made for cars. Most spots would be VERY tight for a trailer, with the exception of those with pull-throughs, as would some of the turns getting in. But a truck and camper would be fine for many.

First time camping at this campground and my experience was good. The site was clean and I felt safe camping solo. I stayed in A-22 which was a small site next to public water spout. The only drawback was the consistent stream of campers coming through to use the water and some felt compelled to talk to me to break the awkwardness of them being so close to my site (which was fine). The river was beautiful and was not crowded while I was there. About 50 mins from Paradise, WA. I would stay at this campground again, but be weary of sites near water sources and toilets (honey buckets, which are pretty smelly).

Beautiful river area’s and nice people camping but the hosts were a wreck and the map on this app is inaccurate. I got site 8 shows we were on the river but site 9 actually is. If I knew we wouldn’t be on the river and we were pretty much in site 9’s site I wouldn’t of reserved that campsite, pretty disappointing. The ladies that were hosting were rude and complained about their job. We had an issue with over paying for parking and one lady was belligerent drunk so we couldn’t explain the situation well enough for her to understand because of how drunk she was. We ended up loosing money. It’s definitely a spot I would come back to just under different circumstances.

This was very disappointing trip, our “rv” spot was just on the side of the road, a lot of people had parked in our spot, and our rv would have faced directly into the neighbors tent. We left.
