What Guests Are Saying
Lower Falls Campground features spacious, well-maintained campsites with ample shade and beautiful riverside views, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers. The breathtaking nearby waterfalls and numerous hiking trails enhance the camping experience, although the campground lacks adequate water stations and has issues with cleanliness in the bathrooms. Overall, visitors appreciate the serene environment, helpful camp hosts, and the opportunity to disconnect from technology in a picturesque setting.

Great site, plenty of room for 3 tents and 2 cars. Lots of shade. Easy walk to the water. It was quiet at night. Will be back!

Great time. Wish there had been an easier was to access the river below the falls.

Lower Falls is a beautiful place and remote. The roads are rough getting there and caution is urged when driving along the curves. We loved the ability to visit the waterfalls and enjoy the trails. Trails from Middle Falls to Upper Falls are not for the faint since they're steep and rough (not as well maintained). However, pack lot of patience and appreciation for the environment. Site for camping (car/tent) was amazing. Thank you for proving a gem in the rough...

The river was beautiful and calming. There were several easier access points above the falls for wading, skipping stones, and enjoying the water, but the access to the swimming hole below the falls was a treacherous climb down a steep slope. As for the campgrounds, the sites were spacious and the kids enjoyed biking. The pit toilets are as one would expect. There was only one running water by pump in the upper loop. There is no firewood for sale at the site. We enjoyed a quiet hike in the woods, but the last bit to Middle Falls had washed out and there was no mileage markings on the sign to say how much further the detour would be. As for getting to the campgrounds, the last 30 miles of the road was full of dips and sections of gravel with lots of potholes.

If you are looking for a camping experience without amenities, this is one of the places to visit. A short hike, very short, to a beautiful river with three fantastic waterfalls is a highlight. The campground is clean.
We were camping with two tents and there was more than enough room for all.

The location is beautiful and we had some great hikes. The campground is nice, but in recent years has become overcrowded with multiple vehicles and households camping together on each site. It's louder than an urban neighborhood! If you're there for a family reunion or other campground experience with lots of kids yelling and dogs barking, you won't mind. Unfortunately, we encountered a lot of that on the first mile or two of the trail too. The host went around to remind people about quiet hours on our first night, but on our second and third nights that didn't happen because it was his "weekend" and nobody was covering for him. Also, the air quality was pretty bad in the campground because so many people don't seem to know how to have a campfire without smoldering. And there must be a lot of people who are feeding the wildlife or not keeping a clean campsite, because we had to spend a half hour chasing chipmunks out of our engine compartment before we could leave. That could make for a very expensive camping trip if they get into your wiring.

The site was big, comfortable, near the river. The only problem was the clean water. Only has one water pump in the whole campground.
The restroom has a lot of insects.
