My 1st time to this NP and it was great. I was surprised that even the bathrooms at the visitor center were vaults but those and the ones at the campground were the cleanest vault bathrooms I have seen (and 3 months into a 5-month RV trek, on this trip I have been to 31 NP and many other NPS locations).

The campsite was easily found. There are three loops. We were in loop B. Ours was an electric site. Things to note: (1) there is no firewood to be purchased in the campground. Buy it at the entrance. (2) there isn't a dump station in the campground. (at least we couldn't find it). (3) there is not a check in at the gate to the campground. You will need to know your spot if you reserved it ahead of time. Take a screen shot of your email/reserve.gov site before you get into the park. Access to the internet was limited. Loved the campground and the visitor's center. The rangers and staff were very friendly and helpful. Get outside at night. The sky was amazing!

The campground and area is beautiful. However bring something for shade.

Ranger programs in the campground were great! Site and restrooms were clean. We had shade and plenty of room for our tent and stargazing!

Camp hosts were great and very helpful in accommodating our needs. The park was absolutely fantastic and the rangers were super helpful. Staff at gift shop friendly and welcoming as were all staff. We enjoyed our adventure there and made great memories and took fantastic pictures. Campground was immaculate.

No enforced generator and quiet hours which made for a noisy and poor experience.

Campground has a lot of potential but lacks similar organization to other National Parks. We stayed in A16. Very secluded. However, there are only 2 pit toilets that are unisex located in the middle of the loop. No flush toilets. No sinks. No dish washing area. They were really disgusting due to the unisex decision. The only water was located at the loop entrance. Even worse is that the dumpsters were nowhere near the campsites. They were in the parking lot. You have to walk 1/2 mile or drive your trash.
I would highly recommend this NP to go observe the setup at Mesa Verde. Their trash and restroom setup were AMAZING! Even with itβs location nowhere near a town and located a top a butte.
I love camping at National Parks because the facilities are nicer. But Black Canyon really disappointed me. I hope someone really thinks about repositioning things and getting flush toilets.
