What Guests Are Saying
Peak One Campground boasts a fantastic location near trails, towns, and Lake Dillon, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers good privacy between sites. However, there are ongoing issues with restroom facilities, as vault toilets remain closed and only porta-potties are available, which some guests found less than satisfactory.

Full rain all day and the whole next day was forecasted. Wanted to change the reservation to another date, but was not allowed. Lame.

This campground surprised us in how much we liked it - maybe because we had low expectations. While we were there it was quiet, clean, and well maintained, and having the reservoir full certainly makes the whole area a lot prettier than I've seen it in the past. I've seen a lot of comments complaining about lack of shade, but the upside of a lack of tall trees is a lot of vegetation and small trees than provide good visual separation. I contrast this (favorably) with Turquoise Lake east side campgrounds where there is plenty of shade and no underbrush - like a dirt parking lot with a high forest canopy. I'd rather be here. We really liked the fact that downtown Frisco is walkable on the forest path by the lake. Not a short walk, but a very pleasant way to combine a hike with a decent dinner. You could spend a week here easily with all you can do - exploring Frisco, Keystone and Breckenridge all without a car - either biking or taking the free bus or even hiking the trail between Frisco and Breck and returning via bus. The lake is "skin free", which means you can't swim or wade, but you can canoe if if you want. There are not any RV services that we saw, but the spaces are fairly roomy. We'll be back. My only quibble was a campground host that made me move my vehicle to directly in front of our trailer, even though I was well within the site demarcation rocks - just a bit off to the side to improve out view - OCD IMHO.

Peak One is an amazing basecamp! It’s clean and quiet and a great jumping off point for adventure. Ranger Suzanne Garrison is super friendly, helpful and makes sure everyone’s experience is a great one. T

I was in #11 and there was no real shade. The trees are quite young. Very nice views. The camp host was friendly and informed me you could go to the rec. center to take a shower for $5. Like a previous review said it can be quite windy.

The campground was full, but sites are spaced well enough to feel a sense of privacy. Bathrooms very clean.
