What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground features friendly staff and well-maintained, clean facilities, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many campers appreciate the spacious, diverse sites and beautiful views, despite ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene, which has affected some amenities and scenery. While there are some drawbacks, such as restroom accessibility and low lake water levels, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Petersburg has it all. A beautiful lakeside setting, large, well spaced campsites, clean bathhouse and free laundry facility, friendly, helpful staff and excellent grounds maintenance. It just feels very comfortable.

Great COE Site! The only negative is the signs that are used to show if a site is reserved or not. The way the reserved dates are written caused confusion, The site we wanted was open during the week days ( when we were going to be staying) but reserved for the upcoming weekend, You almost must get out of your vehicle and closely read the dates as all sites had the signs marked using the White "RESERVED" side of the sign verses the Green "AVAILIBLE " side.

We stayed 2 nights at the Petersburg Campground (01/01/2023 and 01/02/2023) and our stay was an excellent experience. The site was large, clean and on the lake with a fantastic view. No issues with reservations, check-in or check-out. The bathroom / shower was good as well, good water pressure and temperature.
The only requests, and we knew this going in, would be sewer hook-ups and access to the campground after 10:00pm (gate locks at 10:00pm).

This is a great park for water activities and just getting out and taking a hike. Nice trail runs right through it but it's also a fun campground to just walk around. The campsites are huge and offer great privacy with the exception of just a few sites that are a little too close to each other but even those are better than you will find in many parks and campgrounds. Bath facilities are clean and well kept and there's the bonus of a laundry room for those long term stays.

We always enjoy camping at Petersburg. We're at the lake and still close enough to go to the walmart or grocery store near by.
