What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained site with spacious, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Many visitors appreciate the gorgeous scenery, access to the lake, and the opportunity to see wildlife like armadillos and woodpeckers. Although there are some lingering effects from Hurricane Helene, including tree damage and a need for improvements in certain facilities, overall feedback suggests a positive camping experience.

This was our second visit to the campground. It is one of the nicest ones we have been to, and we will definitely stay there again.

Petersburg has it all. A beautiful lakeside setting, large, well spaced campsites, clean bathhouse and free laundry facility, friendly, helpful staff and excellent grounds maintenance. It just feels very comfortable.

Great COE Site! The only negative is the signs that are used to show if a site is reserved or not. The way the reserved dates are written caused confusion, The site we wanted was open during the week days ( when we were going to be staying) but reserved for the upcoming weekend, You almost must get out of your vehicle and closely read the dates as all sites had the signs marked using the White "RESERVED" side of the sign verses the Green "AVAILIBLE " side.

We stayed 2 nights at the Petersburg Campground (01/01/2023 and 01/02/2023) and our stay was an excellent experience. The site was large, clean and on the lake with a fantastic view. No issues with reservations, check-in or check-out. The bathroom / shower was good as well, good water pressure and temperature.
The only requests, and we knew this going in, would be sewer hook-ups and access to the campground after 10:00pm (gate locks at 10:00pm).
