What Guests Are Saying
Jackrabbit Mountain is a beautiful campground with scenic lake views and well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Many campers appreciate the clean bathrooms and spacious, private campsites, making it a great spot for families and nature enthusiasts. While some facilities could use improvement, such as the bathroom hooks and the absence of firewood for sale, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly hosts and a peaceful atmosphere.

Can’t believe how Johnny-on-the-spot a government 1800 number could be. Drove to a booked campground 40 minutes South. Dumb move. Called your 1800 number. Got rebooked at Jack Rabbit. Show up. First site sucked - but how was the rep going to know that a site next to bath house glowing in the night wasn’t my jam? Camp attendant gives me the tour. Find a great spot. Called the 1800 again, booked, and paid in real time. Spot was clean, relatively secluded, with easy access to the lake. This went from a this-will-do trip to a we’ll-be-back trip. Special thanks to camp attendant and his family for helping me and being down to earth, relatable folks.

Loop C is not recommended for those with children and disabilities. Most camp sites are below road level and require carrying equipment down stairs or a rough path. Direct water access is limited.

Jack Rabbit campground it one of the best campgrounds we have found. The host is nice and made us feel safe while giving us our space to enjoy this beautiful lake and campground. The site we got was right on the lake which is awesome. We love to fish. The lake has good bank fishing at the campground. the only thing we would suggest is , It would be great if they provided soap in the restrooms.
We always look forward to our time at Jack Rabbit Campground!

It was the last weekend of the season, so the campground was not crowded. We had a waterfront site that was lovely. Bath & shower facilities were fine, although my husband complained that he had to constantly keep pushing the button for shower water. Hiking is great here! Can’t wait to come back next spring!

Absolutely beautiful campground! We’re avid campers and this is our new favorite campground. The area the campground is in is beautiful as well. We’ll absolutely be back!

Beautiful well maintained campground situated on the shores of Lake Chatague. Kayaking is a must as well as bike riding! Our Labs enjoy the lake too. Just miles from Hiawassee, Blairsville, Clayton in GA and Franklin, Murphy, Bryson City in NC. Lots of scenic drives and waterfalls close by. Many delicious restaurants in the area to enjoy. You can rest and relax or stay as busy as you like at this campground.

Love coming here. Sight 15 was large with nice step down picnic area. Parking pad fit both our 30 ft. camper and long-bed dually truck. Great water spot to launch our kayaks.
