What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

We loved this campground for our father and son experience camping directly in the national park. The campsite was lovely and clean with a view of the creek. The tent pad was in amazing shape and the latrine was clean. Would love to camp here again and would recommend highly to others.

Great campsite! The locations right next to the stream were perfect.

We only stayed for one night, but it was pretty smooth. Navigating there was easy, and we found our site pretty easily. It was the most crowded campground that I had ever stayed at, though. We were only there while it was dark so we didn't really see much of the grounds. The bathrooms were clean and weren't crowded, which was nice.

Great campground, however a shower would make it perfect.

Honestly one of the best experiences I have had camping in the smokies! The campsites were clean and orderly without being overly close to each other, and the public restrooms had one outlet, a light, and water which were all very helpful. It was near a river which was very peaceful and overall I greatly enjoyed my time there and felt very safe. 10/10!

Had a fantastic site. Got a little chilly, but the Great Smokies is a great place to visit.

Stayed in #4 in A loop, right across from the creek. Nice to fall asleep to but you have to almost yell at people with you, lol. Sites are very close together, I expect the busy season to be very loud. Clean sites and bathrooms. Beautiful location. No cell service. If you need it, go back to the welcome center.
Would stay again but only in the off season.
