What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

We loved the location of the campground with nearby shopping, hiking, and activities. The campground easily accommodated our large tent without feeling crowded. Lots of campers but we did not feel too close.

Excellent stay. Pleasant, helpful camp host. Flyfished the Bradley Fork and enjoyed the Smokemont Loop hike. Nice elevation gain. Quiet and peaceful stroll through the forest up to the ridge and back down. Amusing crows would sit above my tent and call until I came out and fed them in the morning. Very entertaining birds. Great stay

Very nice campground. If you can, go to the stables and take a trail ride, during the fall it is so beautiful.

Beautiful Campground for tent campers as well as RVers. Facilities were clean and optimally located. The grounds are spectacular and the campsites have plenty of space. A great experience.

Smokemont campgrounds is a very nice, quiet semi-developed campgrounds with paved parking pads, picnic tables and firerings. No electric or water hook-ups on sites but fresh water is available at the RV dumpstation!! Just our kind of place, so if you want peace and quiet instead of fancy amenities this is a great campgrounds, although it is a little pricey. But at least the money goes to keeping our national recreation parks open for us to enjoy. Also very convenient to the Cherokee Indian reservation , Harrah's casino, grocery stores, etc!! Just five miles from the tourist district with lots of restaurants, stores and attractions!! Heads up!! The possibility of visits from the bears is for real, too! My wife and I stayed there way back in 1976 and had a first-hand visit from a "pots & pans rattling" bear because we thought those weren't a problem and slid the box under our van. So go, enjoy, some of Mother Nature's finest accommodations !!

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. It is clean, flat-I even had a pull-through paved site. I love the little creek that runs through the park.

Nice place with well maintained restrooms. As in most national parks, no showers. Stayed in site B35 with a 22 ft trailer. Was not a good fit for any trailer due to the tree in the driveway corner. Had to pull out onto the grass on the other side and back in again to get out. Truck would not fit on pavement at site so parked in the "overflow" area a couple of site down the road. Sites in the D loop are MUCH better for trailers unless the trailer is very small as in teardrop units. B loop is much more conducive to tents. Nice tables and fire rings.
