What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

Great little spot! Staff very relaxed and helpful. Enjoyed it for a quick camp in and out. Nit glamping but effective for tent camping - no hot water.

Site is nice but I do find it a little ridiculous that the bathroom had no soap, they could have also been cleaner

I loved being by the creek . I loved the way I could walk around without climbing hills, just an easy walk. I loved the log bridge over the creek. And it was great to be that close to Cherokee and the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway!

We were in site #D44 - a pull through site. It was easy to enter and exit and handled our 18 ft camper and truck with room left over. It had a slight grade to it but one row of leveling blocks took care of that. It was a short walk to the clean restroom that had two stalls and two sinks and an electrical outlet for a hair blow dryer. It is a nice park and very convenient to the town of Cherokee, elk viewing, and highway 441 which takes you over the mountain to Gatlinburg. The only negative is that there is not a lot of privacy between the pull through sights. Site D43's tent was only about 10 ft from our camper. Also within your sight edge there is a public water fountain and water spicket that people would use.
