What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

Overall it was a relaxing and peaceful. I enjoyed hearing the stream throughout my stay. Be aware, there is no phone reception in the campground but was able to obtain a connection down by the campground store/riding stables.

We liked the campsite. The rating would be higher had the bathrooms been cleaner. There was no soap dispenser on the wall and no other soap provided. There were also lots of dead bugs and hairs on/in and around the sinks.

The campground was very nice. It was my first time camping in the Smoky Mountains. The creek running through the campground was wonderful. The park itself was terrible. I had to wait over 2 hours in traffic just to see any attractions. Every time I adventure out it was a nightmare. This will be my last visit to the park.

Beautiful setting! Many of the outer loop RV sites are backed right into the trees. Although there are no hookups for the RV's, the bathhouse has flush toilets and outlets specifically for hair dryers. Be aware there is no cell service. Dump station and water supply is conveniently located.

campground was very full. bathrooms were clean. campsite was spacious enough, but not very private, no bushes or anything screening one site from another.

The site at Smokemont was beautiful. We backed right up on the little creek and enjoyed the babbling brook all evening. The site was just perfect for our 26" airstream with superduty attached.

Beautiful area and easy to find. Close by the Mountain Farm Museum which was a great side trip.

Smokemont 10/20-21/23 B 11 tent camping. I have been enjoying this time of year here for quite a few years near this site. It offers all you need for tent camping, well taken care of site and rest room close by.

This campground is the best I've been too. It's all flat with lots of trees covering most of it. It has trails all around it, and a beautiful creek running beside it. It's very quiet and peaceful. You really can't go wrong staying here.
